Stealth Marketing

Undercover marketing (also known as buzz marketing, stealth marketing, or by its detractors roach baiting) is a subset of guerrilla marketing where consumers do not realize they are being marketed to. For example, a marketing company might pay an actor or socially adept person to use a certain product visibly and convincingly in locations where target consumers congregate. While there, the actor will also talk up their product to people they befriend in that location, even handing out samples if it is economically feasible. The actor will often be able to sell consumers on their product without those consumers even realizing that they are being marketed to.

The subway guy

Jared Fogle was a person used by subway for advertising its product by promoting health and fitness. After being on a diet of sandwiches, Fogle lost 240 pounds, was found by Subway and used as a huge marketing promotion.

The first spot aired on January 1st, 2000, introducing Jared and his story, complete with a disclaimer: "The Subway diet, combined with a lot of walking, worked for Jared. We're not saying this is for everyone. You should check with your doctor before starting any diet program. But it worked for Jared."
The commercial was a stunning success, and the day after it aired, Krause began receiving calls from USA today, ABC and Fox News and Oprah.
A few days later, Subway's national advertising director called Krause and asked if the spot could be aired nationally. It was a smashing success, and Subway's 2000 sales exceeded those of the previous year by 18 percent. In 2001, they rose another 16%. Jared became a well-recognized national phenomenon.

E-Marketing

Internet marketing, also referred to as web marketing, online marketing, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.
The Internet has brought many unique benefits to marketing, one of which being lower costs for the distribution of information and media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing, both in terms of providing instant response and eliciting responses, is a unique quality of the medium. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope because it refers to digital media such as the Internet, e-mail, and wireless media; however, Internet marketing also includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management (
ECRM) systems.

30-10 Marketing

Although i dont know whether its a compulsion to post comments on the thursay marketing class, but after viewing some posts i think i should post one.. Just a precaution..
Well the class started out nicely with sir telling me, "its nice to see YOU on time." Well he was kind of right mean i am nearly ALWAYS late. Anyways, it started out with marketing segmentation and target marketing. Different examples were given and people were as usual, cold-called.

Well, i love the environment but you cant doze off for a second. Mean i just put my hand on my chin and there was Sir Mannan signalling me, HANDS OFF!!! Anyways, i know its always a luxury to get lost in thoughts in a class, but here its like painting a bulls eye on your head. I mean i have heard that professors have eyes at the back of their heads but Sir seems to have one on his right and another one on his left!!

I like the class and my dream of becoming a CEO with a marketing background is still comlpletely intact!!

FIrst things first

Although not completely as printed in the book, to a certain extent, I found this habit to be already a part of my personality. I often subconsciouly use the time matrix efficently in my matters. Compartmentalizing my thoughts has allowed me to plan efficently and effectively. As a result my matters are organized and robust. However, carefully studying this habit proved to quite important. It allowed me to work on this ability to make it better and hence allow me to make foolproof plans and succeed.

Beginning with the end in mind

The second habit, unlike the first habit, has been a heavenly revelation. I always started out things without thinking about how they might turn out in the future. As a result, in certain situations i was confused about my next step or regretful about my past one. Beginning with the end in mind has allowed me to plan each situation carefully so that i may effectively achieve my desired results. Like realizing the importance of the first habit, merely acknowleding the presence of the second habit has made me more "in-control" of different situations.

Being Proactive

The notion of being proactive brought what i have always felt, in black and white. Gaining control of a situation by consciously making your decisions is one of the most important aspects of social as well as personal life. I found the idea to be important in character building and it allowed me to consciously gain control of different situations in life. The change was pleasent and revealing. I am using the notion more effectively each day and it has made me more self-assured and in-control than i have ever been in my life.

They sent him back to her. The letter came.
Saying . . . and she could have him.
And before She could be sure there was no hidden ill
Under the formal writing, he was in her sight —
Living. — They gave him back to her alive —
How else? They are not known to send the dead —
And not disfigured visibly.
His face? — His hands? She had to look — to ask,
"What was it, dear?" And she had given all And still she had all
— they had — they the lucky! Wasn't she glad now?
Everything seemed won,
And all the rest for them permissable ease.
She had to ask, "What was it, dear?" "
Enough, Yet not enough. A bullet through and through,
High in the breast. Nothing but what good care And medicine and rest
— and you a week, Can cure me of to go again.
" The same Grim giving to do over for them both.
She dared no more than ask him with her eyes
How was it with him for a second trial.
And with his eyes he asked her not to ask.
They had given him back to her, but not to keep...

Dream.....

i saw them. Like fallen angels seeping through the ends of undead earth. The crimson drops slowly emerged into beings i had never seen before. they were so many of them. My eyes watered but fear was far. My dream of dying the right way was about to come true. They were creeping towards me unaware of the imminent threat. Their eyes bore no malice nor hate. It was just fear i could see. Or perhaps that was what i wanted to see. My heart throbbed like nothing i had ever experienced. My eyes could suddenly see the my gun again. A smile appeared across my face, as my G3 aimed. The heavy piece of machinery spat fire across the end and the enemy was torn apart. But that didnt stop the storm. The bullets started raining from all direction. My position was not compromised but the wild storm of unwanted lead told a different tale.
The first one hit my right leg and made me remember fire and anger. The colour red, seemed to plaster itself onto everything in sight. My sight was compromised due to the blinding pain. Gaining a slightly heightened conscious level, i repositioned my weapon and shot three of them. They fell like rocks onto the ground.
The second one hit my shoulder and made me remember rainbows and waterfalls. Strange i could feel such beautiful things at such heart wrenching moments. The pain was excruciating but so beautiful. I could never have wished to be anywhere but there. I could see the crimson pool now forming a pool by my side telling a sweet tale of passion and fervour.
The third one hit my heart and told me that i had reached the point of no return. My breath started to falter and darkness began setting in. They had said that death was hard and painful. But not for me.. I would gladly die again and again for this moment. When i knew my life was bound to go for a certain cause and what lay in front was eternal bliss. The gun loosened from my hands and my eyes started gazing at the starlit sky. Drowsiness started sinking in and the pain started to diminish. And then with a soft song of war writhing across my weary lips, i embraced what many call the only truth.. On top of a lonely cliff with the enemy seeping across me slowly, with a war song on my lips and a twinkle in my eye, I died a very happy man...
