Stealth Marketing

Undercover marketing (also known as buzz marketing, stealth marketing, or by its detractors roach baiting) is a subset of guerrilla marketing where consumers do not realize they are being marketed to. For example, a marketing company might pay an actor or socially adept person to use a certain product visibly and convincingly in locations where target consumers congregate. While there, the actor will also talk up their product to people they befriend in that location, even handing out samples if it is economically feasible. The actor will often be able to sell consumers on their product without those consumers even realizing that they are being marketed to.

The subway guy

Jared Fogle was a person used by subway for advertising its product by promoting health and fitness. After being on a diet of sandwiches, Fogle lost 240 pounds, was found by Subway and used as a huge marketing promotion.

The first spot aired on January 1st, 2000, introducing Jared and his story, complete with a disclaimer: "The Subway diet, combined with a lot of walking, worked for Jared. We're not saying this is for everyone. You should check with your doctor before starting any diet program. But it worked for Jared."
The commercial was a stunning success, and the day after it aired, Krause began receiving calls from USA today, ABC and Fox News and Oprah.
A few days later, Subway's national advertising director called Krause and asked if the spot could be aired nationally. It was a smashing success, and Subway's 2000 sales exceeded those of the previous year by 18 percent. In 2001, they rose another 16%. Jared became a well-recognized national phenomenon.

E-Marketing

Internet marketing, also referred to as web marketing, online marketing, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.
The Internet has brought many unique benefits to marketing, one of which being lower costs for the distribution of information and media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing, both in terms of providing instant response and eliciting responses, is a unique quality of the medium. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope because it refers to digital media such as the Internet, e-mail, and wireless media; however, Internet marketing also includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management (
ECRM) systems.

30-10 Marketing

Although i dont know whether its a compulsion to post comments on the thursay marketing class, but after viewing some posts i think i should post one.. Just a precaution..
Well the class started out nicely with sir telling me, "its nice to see YOU on time." Well he was kind of right mean i am nearly ALWAYS late. Anyways, it started out with marketing segmentation and target marketing. Different examples were given and people were as usual, cold-called.

Well, i love the environment but you cant doze off for a second. Mean i just put my hand on my chin and there was Sir Mannan signalling me, HANDS OFF!!! Anyways, i know its always a luxury to get lost in thoughts in a class, but here its like painting a bulls eye on your head. I mean i have heard that professors have eyes at the back of their heads but Sir seems to have one on his right and another one on his left!!

I like the class and my dream of becoming a CEO with a marketing background is still comlpletely intact!!

FIrst things first

Although not completely as printed in the book, to a certain extent, I found this habit to be already a part of my personality. I often subconsciouly use the time matrix efficently in my matters. Compartmentalizing my thoughts has allowed me to plan efficently and effectively. As a result my matters are organized and robust. However, carefully studying this habit proved to quite important. It allowed me to work on this ability to make it better and hence allow me to make foolproof plans and succeed.
